Foodie Friday!

Mickey asked about the kebap, and what it looks like, so I took some pictures.

It's a doener kebap.  It starts with a homemade tortilla, then a layer of meat which turns on a spit all day long, similar to gyros in the US, but the meat is smushed together rather than ground together, so it's a bit tastier.  Next comes red cabbage, iceberg lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and then a choice of three sauces (two white, one red).  As you can see, I chose red this time (it's spicy hot) and I also added red pepper flakes.  Yum.

Most kebap houses use pork, but some have chicken instead, and others have both.  As you can see, my favorite kebap house does not try to roll the tortilla like a burrito, but some do, which totally cuts down on the amount of stuffing you can have!  So I pay a little extra more (a total of 3,50 euros) and get lots of fillings, which means leftovers!  :)

Hmmm. For some reason, I was imagining meat on a stick with a dipping sauce. Its nice that it has vegetables inside the wrap.
